Emergency Preparedness 2025 Post #1

For a few months now I've been interested in having a go-bag ready with my important documents that are difficult to replace. That way in case of fire or flood I can grab the single bag and gtfo, knowing I have everything I need to continue life tomorrow relatively unhindered.
That has transformed from creating a go-bag with important papers to having an emergency preparedness kit and plan for myself and my family.
This is going to be one of my new year's "resolutions", I will be using the entire year to get ready! I will be putting together a comprehensive plan to put together a go-bag and learn skills in case of emergencies.
I will be using ready.gov to create my go-bag and plans. If I find other useful (and reputable!) websites I will be incorporating them as well.
This first post will be the longest since it sets up the rest of the year.
